Studio London Calling...

It's been a while since i've updated with a 'proper' post and today felt like a good day to do so.

Today started out pretty well with something that gave me a good chuckle. I got a phone call from Studio London telling me i've won a competition (which I never entered) for a complimentary makeover session which would include a champagne reception, make up, hair, a facial and photos by a professional photography and all I had to do was give them a £30 deposit over the phone to reserve my place! How exciting *please beware of sarcasm in this post*!

I decided to string them a long a little bit, for a good half an hour until they mentioned the payment when I said "Oh, you know what? Can I call you back, I don't have my card on me." The lady I spoke to seemed quite suprised and put off by the fact I wanted to call back but grudgingly agreed so long as i called back by 6pm (cheek!)

Of course I didn't. But I did look them up. Turns out it IS a real studio with a real telephone number and people have been there. But most people complained of terrible treatment, waiting around for hours and then - the catch - paying out hundreds even thousands of pounds for the photographs after a hard sell by the company. Can't wait for my next trip up to London - will most certainly be paying the studio a visit. Apparently they also pay people £1 a phone number (and then call those people to say they have won the competition etc). Very sneaky and getting round the law. They called me back - I asked if I could have the makeover but not the photographs - they hung up on me. :)
